Free refreshments will be the order of the day as we unveil a brand new mosaic created by the community and raise the 2010 green flag…

Come along to Rowntree Park by the main children's play area to watch the unveiling of the park's brand new mosaic.

Artist Dawn Sharkey worked with a variety of community groups during 2009 on a project called 'Mapping the Park'. After trying out a variety of art techniques, participants produced this fantastic final mosaic piece celebrating their memories and feelings about Rowntree Park.

The project was funded by Arts Action, City of York Council. We’ll also be raising the Green Flag to celebrate receiving this award and free refreshments will be provided to all. No need to book but for more information contact Annemarie Heslop on 07767 318103 or email annemarie.heslop@york.gov.uk
